How to Prepare your Home
for your Professional
Carpet Cleaning Appointment.

It's cleaning day, and we look forward to serving you!

To prepare for your appointment, we have just a few requests to ask of you for best possible results.

1. Protect your Valuables and Breakables

Please remove any breakable items from tabletops — such as lamps, vases, picture frames, and other fragile items.

If you have full-length draperies, or any "skirts" on beds and other furniture that are touching the floor, we recommend that you pin them up with at least 6 inches clearance from the floor.

Dusting your baseboards is a good idea!

Dusting your baseboards (and tables, chairs, etc.) in each room prior to our appointment will ensure that dust won't become airborne and then settle back onto your freshly-cleaned carpet.

2. Make sure the floors are clear.

Please thoroughly vacuum your carpets to get them ready for a deep cleaning.

If you remove small items from your floor before we arrive — potted plants, little tables, magazine racks, small chairs, toys, books, and anything else that might be in the way of the cleaning process, we'd appreciate that very much.

3. Find a Place for your Pets

It's best to make other arrangements for your pets, such as keeping them out in the yard, or secured safely in a room that isn't being cleaned. We also don't want them to panic from the noise from the equipment, or to wander out the front door. (We will need the door slightly opened for our hoses to run to our equipment.)

4. Please Keep a Parking Space Open
for the Cleaning Van

We ask that you clear a parking space near your home's entrance for our cleaning van. We use powerful, truck-mounted equipment, so we'll need to park our vehicle as close as possible to an entry door in order to run the hoses out to the van. The closer the better. And we'll also need just a little space around the van to work.

Also, if you might need to leave while our van is in your driveway, you may want to remove your vehicle from the garage and park on the road so you won't be blocked in while we're cleaning.

5. Take notes before our Initial Walk-through

Although a thorough inspection is part of our service, you know your home best!

Please show us yourhighest traffic lanes, and let us know of any stains or spots that need extra attention. That way, you'll have the peace of mind knowing that we will give extra attention and possibly special techniques to those areas.

Please bring to our attention any broken or fragile furnishings, like coffee tables with weak legs, for example.

6. Be Prepared for AFTER your pro cleaning.

We recommend that you plan ahead for the drying time that is necessary after your cleaning.
For best results, follow these tips after your cleaning:

• Please leave plastic tabs and blocks under the furniture legs for 48 hours.

• Avoid walking on the carpet (especially with shoes) until the carpet is dry. This can take 2 to 8 hours, depending on humidity and room temperature.

• Open your windows (weather permitting) and turn on fans, A/C, or heater to provide air flow. This will help reduce drying time.

• Don't let your kids or pets lie down on the carpet until it is completely dry.

• Slipping hazard: Please use caution when walking from a damp carpet to any hard-surface area.

That's all!

Your cooperation helps us give you the best results possible.

Conclusion

At Prestige, we're dedicated to helping you keep your carpets and furniture upholstery in optimal condition. We will work with you to recommend professional cleanings in order to meet your standards. We look forward to our appointment!
